Foliations for Quasi-fuchsian 3-manifolds
In this paper, we prove that if a quasi-Fuchsian 3-manifold contains a minimal surface whose principle curvature is less than 1, then it admits a foliation such that each leaf is a surface of constant mean curvature. The key method that we use here is volume preserving mean curvature flow.

The Whitney embedding theorem gives an upper bound on the smallest embedding dimension of a manifold. If a data set lies on a manifold, a random projection into this reduced dimension will retain the manifold structure. Here we present an algorithm to find a projection that distorts the data as little as possible.

These subgroups have simple geometric but more complicated algebraic descriptions We present them to illustrate the intricate geometry of Thompson’s group F as well as the interplay between its standard finite and infinite presentations.
